Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is a possible future where books are not only obsolete but also illegal. Reading them can get people arrested.
Guy Montag is an unusual hero that evolves from a complacent individual into a rebel that wants to change the whole world. He is helped along the way by the equally unusual characters, Clarisse, Faber and Granger that, like him, do not seem to find their place in a mechanical society that cultivates violence and lives under the constant threat of war.
The book is a wonderful read as each page is filled with vivid imagery and meaningful dialogue.
